Barrett Brown of East Bernstadt was named to TEAM USA for Karate and is a member of The London Karate Academy. Evva Johnson is owner of London Karate Academy. They joined Brian Sizemore in the Kool Gold 96.7 FM studio for an interview.

NORTH LAUREL FALLS TO ROWAN CO 64-46

North Laurel's Cinderella run to the Sweet 16 Tournament came to an end yesterday as they were defeated by Rowan County 64-46. North Laurel Fans and Coaches alike were very happy to represent Laurel County in the State Tournament.

Fans from Laurel County packed the stands at Rupp Arena for the State Tournament Game.

NORTH LAUREL 13TH REGION CHAMPS

The North Laurel Jaguars won the 13th Region last night in an overtime game against Clay County 54-52. Marcus Carson was named Tournament MVP. The Jaguars will play Rowan County next Wednesday at Rupp Arena at 12 noon!

LONDON VOTES NO TO PACKAGE ALCOHOL

A majority of London's residents voted against package alcohol sales in the city during Tuesday's election.

There were 958 "no" votes and 801 "yes" votes.

Laurel County Schools will dismiss at 1 pm today due to the severe weather moving in the area.

Corbin school officials say they will dismiss students at noon Friday due to impending severe weather.

Officials say parents may pick up students at any time.
