Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff’s Deputy Robbie Grimes is conducting a death investigation regarding a 4 wheeler accident that occurred approx. 4:54 P.M. on Monday afternoon(2-13-2012), 4 miles south of London off Pine Grove School Road, approx. ¼ mile back in a wooded area. Apparently, 16 year old male juvenile from the London area had been at a camp site with 2 of his friends when he left by himself and went driving his Polaris 4 wheeler. After about 15 minutes , when he did not return, his friends went looking for him and found him on a trail under the 4 wheeler . They removed him from under the 4 wheeler, and called for help. The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, Ambulance Inc Of Laurel County, London Laurel Rescue Squad, all responded to the scene. The juvenile had fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Laurel County Coroner Doug Bowling. According to investigators, the victim apparently lost control of the 4 wheeler and was thrown off , and the ATV landed on top of him.
Assisting Deputy Grimes on the investigation was Chief Deputy Eddy Sizemore, and Deputy Steve Hoskins.
