A man and a woman are behind bars in Knox County after an investigation into a hit-and-run and shooting. Knox County deputies were searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in Laurel County. Shots from a 9mm handgun were allegedly fired during the crash. Deputies found the vehicle in a McDonald’s parking lot in Barbourville. Inside the vehicle, they found a 9mm handgun, meth and a set of digital scales. The driver, 35 year old Lawrence W. Collinsworth of Corbin was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, drug trafficking and driving with a DUI suspended license. During the investigation, deputies found a .22 caliber handgun in the possession of a passenger in the vehicle. Police arrested Deanna N. Collinsworth of Barbourville on a charge of carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Both were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
